In addition to Bb Lydian, this instrument also plays in D Minor. Using the first perimeter note of D3 as the root it will match any D minor ding. Moving to the Bb2 ding in conjunction with the other instruments D ding, there is a shift to a feeling of floating as a major chord is then created.
